Pamela Emenger, Executive Director
Pamela
was born in Albany, California and was raised in Long Beach. She attended
college at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. She lived in Yucaipa
for 16 years before buying a home in Forest Falls in December 2007.
She has been the Executive Director of the Yucaipa Valley Chamber
of Commerce since August 2004. Prior to that she was the Development
Director for a local nonprofit organization and a sales agent for
the Automobile Club of Southern California. She is a member of the
Western Association of Chamber Executives and is a 2007 graduate of
W.A.C.E. Academy. She is also a member of the Yucaipa Valley Kiwanis
Club since 2005. She was nominated and recognized as a Woman of Distinction
by Assemblyman Bill Emmerson in 2006. Her passions in life are her
two sons, Nickolas and Garrett, along with her black Labrador retriever,
Diva. Her hobbies include yoga, golf, long walks with her dog and
reading. She is very proud to be a part of the Yucaipa community.
John Sharp, Volunteer
John
was born in Pittsburgh, PA, May 18, 1925. He enlisted in the army
in 1943 at the tender age of 17 and spent two years serving in
China, Burma and India. After returning home, he finished high
school and went to work for Gulf Oil Corporation. He moved to California
in 1952. He worked for Food Machinery & Chemical Company for 13
years and was a Reserve Deputy for the Riverside Sheriff’s Office
for 10 years. In 1967 he started work at the Public Works Office
at the Twentynine Palms Marine Base. During this time he was also
a San
Bernardino Reserve Sheriff’s Deputy and a member of the Sheriff’s
posse. After 13 years he transferred to Norton Air Force Base where
he worked for another 13 years. After being forced to retire because
the base closed, John started volunteering for Lutheran Braille
Workers. He was hired in 1996 and was assigned to the Large Print
Department
until retiring in July 2004. John was married to his wife, Scottie,
for nearly 45 years before her death in 2001. John started volunteering
for the Yucaipa Valley Chamber of Commerce in August 2004 and continues
to work every day in the office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
